Given those clever people at Google essentially have a window into the worldwide community's soul when it comes to analysing our search habits, it wasn't long before certain terms started causing concern.
Naturally, phrases such as 'ways to commit suicide' would come pretty close to the top of that list so the search giant has now given prominence to a free hotline number that's triggered whenever someone enters a phrase or keyword related to the topic.
Currently available in the US and set to roll out to the UK, the move is only the second time Google has taken direct control over what users come into contact with.
Google's initial life-saving project came about after a mother reported difficulty when searching for information after her daughter accidentally ingested poison.
Google now offers a poison emergency hotline whenever it detects someone looking for information or help.
Meanwhile Google are yet to amend their Google Suggest feature which is currently all too willing to direct users onto sites with information such as 'ways to kill yourself without pain'.
On a lighter note, Google Suggest also brings up the usual hilarious array of options including 'ways to kill a juggernaut', 'ways to kill a man with your bare hands' (clearly people looking for Chuck Norris) and more importantly '101 ways to kill a zombie' which we think is deserving of a hotline all of its own.
