Google - Educating the Next Generation

With the launch of Google’s new service dedicated to providing a valuable education portal for both students and teachers, one of Scotland’s fastest growing search companies express its support.

QueryClick, who specialise in helping businesses boost their online profile through improving website performance, has welcomed news of Google’s new education program ‘Google in Education': A new and open world for learning’.

The program has been devised by the search engine giant to act as a learning resource tool for teachers and students across the world, gathering all of their education based resources in one place in order to enhance learning and teaching.

Google has been a strong supporter of training and teaching and over the years it has devised a range of education programmes. Now Chris Liversidge, founder of QueryClick believes ‘Google in Education’ will not only open up more learning platforms, but will also cement its position as the world’s most valued educational resource.

Chris said: “The team at QueryClick are in full support of Google’s latest drive to enhance the educational experience. Google is already widely used as a resource tool and already provides a reliable foundation for classroom and office debate.

“Now, thanks to ‘Google in Education’ it is able to also provide a greater level of educational opportunities for students of all ages, from primary school upwards, helping them to grasp the hidden wonders of computer science.

“Through computer fairs and science workshops, Google are working really hard to expose more and more children to industries such as computer engineering, design and digital marketing and its fantastic to see the next generation getting stuck in and enjoying the educational process.

“What’s even more pleasing about the programme is the fact Google have been focused on education right from the start, speaking with educators and students to develop the programme, finding out what the end user want most and making it the best it could possibly be.

“We're thoroughly looking forward to seeing the programme develop, as well as welcoming the next generation of innovators to the digital computing sector.”

As well as encouraging students to take part in learning based workshops and fairs, ‘Google in Education’ also offers a host of online support in the shape of its dedicated Google + pages.

Created for students, teachers and parents, the pages act as information portals and forums, keeping visitors updated on the latest educational tools, products and programs and encouraging them to join in the conversation.

Google have also revamped its education page www.google.com/edu with the aim for it to become a one-stop shop for teachers students, parents and associated organisations, with learning resources, teaching planners and a calendar of events available in the ‘Google in Education’ calendar.

Chris added: “At QueryClick we support the nurturing and education of up and coming digital talent.

“We have recently employed four new staff members all of which have come straight out of university. Their hunger to succeed and the fresh thinking they bring to the organisation has been a welcomed with open arms.”
