The DADI Awards, started by The Drum magazine in 2007, have become “synonymous with digital effectiveness”. The prestige of these awards is known throughout the UK, with the level of esteem associated with winning such an award enough to prove a company's worth to the rest of the digital industry.
The competition is open to any UK digital agency, creative agency, media owner or clients working within the digital field, and is attended by more than 400 professionals within the industry. High-profile brands such as the BBC, Adidas, Tennents and Wonderbra come up against smaller, lesser-known companies such as our very own QueryClick Ltd.
The ceremony is a fantastic display of the effective use of digital media, as well as a highly beneficial networking opportunity for participants.
Within the category of 'Best Online Marketing Strategy' nominees include Code Computerlove for their work on the Durex Ora! Brand, Story UK in association with Ardbeg, iris Manchester for their Ultimate Strapless Wonderbra marketing strategy, Bluecube Interactive and rippleffect whose work for AXA and Inventive Leisure respectively has earned them a place in this highly competitive category.
In order to impress the judges in this area, we are told that “advertisers must demonstrate excellence in their use of the internet as both a communication and sales channel and provide evidence that their strategy has had a positive impact on revenue.” Such criteria forms the basis for the analysis of each category nomination.
QueryClick's entry for this category demonstrated the radical overhaul of the Classic British Hotels site; a hotel aggregation website that offers an online booking system for high-end, 4 to 5 star independent hotels across the United Kingdom.
The dramatic improvements made by the Edinburgh based agency, and the impressive end results, were sufficient evidence of the dexterity and expertise of this company, whose hard work and technical skills resulted in an additional £353,000 of sales for Classic British Hotels, as well as a 4.7 million increase in site pageviews.
Despite the astounding turnaround of this site, QueryClick are up against some stiff opposition. However, this digital agency are confident in their abilities, and remain positive with regards to their chances of taking home the trophy.
Project Manager Bob Cook acknowledged the level of competition faced by QueryClick, but also drew attention to the level of success experienced by the company in such a short period of time:
“We're up against some established agencies but the success we've had in just two years shows we're worthy contenders.”
The ceremony will take place on the 12th November at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, where the winners of each category will be announced and presented with their awards.
